Linking your Instagram and Facebook company accounts saves time through cross-platform sharing. Social media is an essential tool in marketing. So, when it comes to social media marketing, be smart by connecting your Facebook and Instagram marketing platforms.
Linking your Instagram and Facebook accounts creates accessibility to cross-post, discover Facebook friends to connect with on Instagram, and share Instagram stories with Facebook stories. But for privacy concerns or want to lessen your social media activity, unlink Instagram and Facebook to disconnect your social profiles. It is easy to execute in a few easy steps.
How to disconnect Facebook from Instagram account
Here’s how to disconnect Facebook from your Instagram account:
- Open the Instagram app on your smart device (iOS or Android) and tap the Profile icon in the lower-right corner.
- Tap the “Menu” icon (three lines for iOS and three dots for Android) in the upper-right corner.
- Tap “Settings”.
- Tap “Accounts Center”.
- Tap “Accounts & profiles”.
- Select the account you want to remove.
- Tap “Remove from Accounts Center”.
- When the confirmation message appears, tap “Continue”.
- Tap Remove [account name].
Now, your Facebook account is unlinked from your Instagram account. Your Instagram data will stay on your Facebook page until you manually delete it. There is a need to erase all of your Instagram posts from Facebook if necessary.
Note: If you have a business Instagram page, convert it to a personal page before unlinking Facebook.
How to restore back to a personal profile on Instagram
Here’s what you need to restore back to a personal profile:
- Tap on your profile and tap in the upper right corner.
- Click “Settings”.
- Click “Account”.
- Click “Switch Account Type”.
- Tap “Switch to Personal Account”, then tap “Switch to Personal” to confirm.
Note: Each time you reverse back to a personal account, your Instagram insights data will be erased. If you’ve restored your personal Instagram profile to a business account, you can switch it back anytime.
